Uncle Mo’s six-time graded stakes-winning son Bishops Bay retires to Taylor Made

Multiple graded stakes-winning miler Bishops Bay, a son of sire Uncle Mo, has been retired and will stand the 2027 breeding season at Taylor Made Stallions, the farm announced today. He will stand for $12,500 S&N.

“He is a great looking son of Uncle Mo, a proven sire of sires,” said Travis White, CEO of Taylor Made Stallions. “He’s fast and could carry his speed a mile. Those are the credentials we look for in a stallion.”

Bishops Bay recorded more triple-digit Beyer Speed Figures than any son of Uncle Mo at stud—107, 106, 104, 103, 100—and the fastest on dirt. He excelled at the stallion-making distance of one mile, winning 5-of-7 starts over that distance, all in graded stakes company. Among his standout achievements came in 2025, when he stopped the clock in 1:34.62 to win the $500,000 Cigar Mile (G2) with a career-best 107 Beyer.

Bishops Bay demonstrated his speed from the start, impressively winning his career debut at three sprinting at Fair Grounds, garnering a 97 Beyer over six furlongs in defeating subsequent multiple graded stakes winner First Mission. In just his third lifetime start, he finished second, beaten a head by Champion 2-Year-Old Arcangelo in the Peter Pan S. (G3) at the distance of 1 1/8 miles.

First or second in 16-of-18 lifetime starts, with 11 victories, Bishops Bay amassed earnings of $2,875,080., second only to leading sire Nyquist as the leading earning son of Uncle Mo. He was acquired by KAS Stables for $1.3 million at the 2025 Keeneland November Horses of Racing Age Sale.

By Uncle Mo, the sire of Nyquist and No. 1 First-Crop Sire Golden Pal and No. 1 Second-Crop Sire Yaupon, Bishops Bay is from a proven female family of graded stakes performers and producers. He is out of the stakes-winning and Grade 1-placed Pioneerof the Nile mare Catch My Drift, making him a half-brother to Louisiana Derby (G2) winner Catching Freedom who finished third in the 2024 Preakness Stakes (G1). Bishops Bay’s full sister sold for $1.5 million at this year’s Keeneland September Sale.

Bishops Bay is now available for inspection throughout the remainder of the Keeneland November Sale. For more information, contact Brock Martin or Travis White at Taylor Made Stallions at (859) 885-3345 or visit www.taylormadestallions.com.
