Time to Dream showed an explosive turn of foot in the final furlong of her debut maiden-breaking win July 25 at Saratoga, winning by a widening 2 ¼-lengths and being named a TDN ‘Rising Star’ after the stellar effort.
The 2-year-old filly is the is the eighth ‘Rising Star’ for Not This Time and his third this month alone. Currently seventh on the 2025 General Sire list, Not This Time has accounted for a dozen stakes winners and five graded winners to date this year.
Time to Dream, a $750,000 Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Yearling purchase in 2024, was in midpack while in the three-path for most of the one-mile trip. She was bottled up on the final bend and forced to go four-wide into the stretch. Finding clear running with a furlong to go, she exploded past the field and won going away in 1:36.56 on the firm turf.
“When we were first up here in the spring, the Oklahoma track was pretty deep and demanding, and it seemed like we were having some horses that were struggling with it a little bit,” trainer Todd Pletcher said. “She was not one of them, but we did work her one time on the turf. Not This Time is such a versatile stallion. It seems like he really gets runners that do just about anything. We thought she really breezed well on the turf and felt like she didn’t want to rush in a maiden dirt race. We were just kind of waiting for this.”
Time to Dream is owned by Mike Repole and was bred in Kentucky by Maggie Gieseke. Out of Wild Silk, Time to Dream is a half-sister to multiple graded winner Red Carpet Ready.
