Not This Time’s Dream On takes Penn Mile (G3) for first graded win

Dream On went from last to first in the final quarter-mile of the $400,000 Penn Mile (G3) on Friday evening at Penn National to give the 3-year-old son of Not This Time his first graded stakes victory.

Winner of the $125,000 Woodhaven S. at Aqueduct in late April, Dream On is the 24th lifetime graded winner for Not This Time, as well as being his sire’s fifth graded winner of 2025.

Dream On, who was under a fairly stout hold in the early stages, was last of five through most of the first six furlongs. He was cut loose by Javier Castellano approaching the quarter pole, and responded with a flourish, coming between horses in midstretch to take command, then pulling clear late to win by about 1 ½-lengths in 1:35.62 over the yielding turf.

Now 4-1-1 in nine starts, Dream On has earned $487,740 for D. J. Stable LLC. The bay colt was purchased by his owner for $380,000 out of the 2024 OBS Spring 2-year-old sale.

Dream On was bred in Kentucky by Aaron and Marie Jones LLC and is out of 2012 Fantasy S. (G2) winner Mamma Kimbo.
