Heavenville dispatched Hasten at the top of the stretch on his way to a 3 ¼-length maiden special weight win Sept. 21 at Churchill Downs to become the eighth winner for First-Crop sire Instagrand.
Heavenville got away very well in the full field of 12 2-year-olds as he posted a quarter-mile time of :22.94. After a half-mile in :46 flat and six furlongs in 1:10.40, Heavenville had plenty left for the stretch run and extended his margin down to the wire.
The winner is owned by his breeders William and Corinne Heiligbrodt, along with OXO Equine LLC. The bay colt is the second foal out of Treasure in Heaven, whose dam Richwoman won Churchill Downs’ Debutante S. (G3) at two.
Instagram, a son of leading sire Into Mischief, won the Best Pal S. (G2) at two and placed in the Santa Anita Derby (G1) at three. Among his eight first-crop winners is the stakes-placed Superwolf and Canadian stakes winner No Rejoyce.
