Arthur’s Ride posted one of the more memorable allowance victories in recent Saratoga history
with his 12 ¾-length victory on June 7.
Not only did he win eased up in the 1 ¼-mile contest for older horses, he earned a Beyer Speed
Figure of 111, one of the highest numbers for any horse in 2024.
In what was his first race over a mile, Arthur’s Ride was sent right to the front by jockey Junior
Alvarado. After a half-mile, he had a two-length lead and continued to widen from there.
Turning for home, the margin was three lengths, then he extended himself down the lane to
completely dominate, finishing in 2:00.99 on a fast main track.
A 4-year-old gray son of Tapit, Arthur’s Ride is 3-2-0 in six starts and has earned $214,955 for
owner Glassman Racing.
