In a thrilling finish, Not This Time’s Unrivaled Time scored a determined victory in the $200,000 Twilight Derby (G2) at Santa Anita on Sunday, Nov. 1.

Ridden by Joel Rosario, Unrivaled Time prevailed by a nose in the 1 1/18-mile turf fixture, splitting horses in the stretch after a dynamic last-to-first rally.

Bred in California by Alfred Pais and owned in partnership by his breeder in partnership with Innergy Racing Corp., Unrivaled Time is trained by Leonard Powell. The win was the second in graded company for the 3-year-old son of Not This Time. Last year at two he won the Cecil B. DeMille Stakes (G3) at Del Mar and is now a winner in 4-of-9 lifetime starts with earnings of $323,600.

“The last few times, there wasn’t that much pace and they were much bigger fields, so we circled all the way around,” said Powell. “If you look at his figures, he ran as good as the favorite, but we had to circle horses. We didn’t get all the luck we needed because he had to check once or twice, but he was able to show his great turn of foot.”

Not This Time is the No. 1 General Sire in 2026 with progeny earnings of more than $30 million. He is represented by 15 graded stakes winners this season, topped by Magnitude, winner of the Dubai World Cup (G1) and the Stephen Foster (G1).
