Not This Time got his newest stakes winner in thrilling fashion on May 13 at Horseshoe Indianapolis when How About Now shot through a narrow opening in the final sixteenth to win the $150,000 Cleopatra S.
Not This Time, atop the 2026 General Sire list with over $15 million in progeny earnings to date, has 14 stakes winners this year, topped by Grade 1 winners Magnitude, Rhetorical and Claret Beret.
How About Now was making her stakes debut on Wednesday, following an April 12 maiden win at a mile on the Keeneland turf, the same conditions as the Cleopatra.
After breaking from post 7, How About Now made her way to the rail rounding the first turn. She was seventh, about six lengths from the front, for the first six furlongs. After turning for home, the 3-year-old filly had four horses in front of her. Jockey Alex Concepcion waited for an opening, and when one finally appeared, How About Now shot through and hit the wire a 1 ½-length winner.
The Summer Wind Equine LLC homebred has won two of her three turf starts and earned $154,709. How About Now’s dam A Star Is Born (IRE) is a full sister to millionaire and two-time European champion Rip Van Winkle (IRE).
