Cy Fair named an Eclipse Award finalist

Not This Time’s Breeders’ Cup winner Cy Fair was named a finalist for an Eclipse Award in the 2-year-old Filly category when the nominees were announced on Jan. 4.

Cy Fair, who won the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint (G1) Oct. 31 at Del Mar, was a neck away from being undefeated in her four starts in 2025. She broke her maiden at first asking July 10 at Saratoga, then narrowly missing in the Bolton Landing S., also at Saratoga. She shipped to Woodbine to dominate the Algonquin S., her final start before the Breeders’ Cup.

Trained by George Weaver for Medallion Racing, Swinbank Stables LLC, Joey Platts and Mark Stanton, Cy Fair sold to her owners for $185,000 at the 2025 OBS Spring 2-year-old sale. The bay filly was bred in Kentucky by Marc Keller.

Cy Fair was one of Not This Time’s 30 stakes winners in 2025, the most for any stallion in North America. Not This Time was also 2025’s leading sire by 2-year-old winners and earnings, and 3-year-old graded stakes winners.

Eclipse winners will be announced on FanDuel TV, and other outlets, during the 55th Annual Resolute Racing Eclipse Awards, presented by John Deere, The Jockey Club and the NTRA, on Thursday, Jan. 22 at 7:30 p.m. ET.
