Dana’s Beauty leads all the way in $250,000 Latonia S.

Saturday at Turfway Park Dana’s Beauty took the field gate to wire in the $250,000 Latonia S. to become the fourth stakes winner of the year for Not This Time.

The victory marked the first stakes win for the bay distaffer, who was third in last year’s HBPA S. at Presque Isle Downs. Other stakes winners this year for Not This Time include Sam F. Davis (G3) winner No More Time and Sibelius, who is slated to defend his title in next weekend’s Dubai Golden Shaheen.

Dana’s Beauty broke well from her outside post in the field of 10 and hustled to the lead before getting to the first turn. She settled nicely for Jose Ortiz, covering the half-mile in :49.56. When called upon with a quarter-mile to go, Dana’s Beauty extended her margin and came home strongly to win by 2 ¾-lengths in 1:43.96 for the 1 1/16-miles on the synthetic surface.

Owned by Magic Oaks, Dana’s Beauty has amassed $428,167 and a record of 8-4-8 in 37 lifetime outings. She was bred in Kentucky by John Liviakis.

Dana’s Beauty is out of City Siren, and her second dam Quick Breeze is a half-sister to Preakness S. (G1) winner Cloud Computing.
