Physical Description

As a yearling, Forestry was a $1.5 million Keeneland July Sale topper, which speaks volumes about his looks.

Forestry has a beautiful head, neck and shoulder and a deep heart girth, Forestry is a stallion of good quality and substance. A fraction taller and longer than a typical Storm Cat, he has good balance to him, a decent hip but his hocks sit away a little from him. He can pass this trait on to his foals. He has decent bone, a good short cannon but has somewhat small, tight feet. He is very correct for a son of Storm Cat. Overall, he has a good profile and has a lot of quality.

Forestry doesn’t breed like a typical Storm Cat stallion in that he has done best with mares that are just medium sized and maybe requiring a little more substance to them. Forestry will ‘pretty up’ a plain mare and generally adds a lot of quality to the foal. He can throw the size associated with his damsire, Pleasant Colony, and breeding an overly large mare is not advisable.
