Vibe, a 3-year-old son of Astrology, repelled a stout challenge after being headed in the Churchill Downs stretch to come away with a half-length victory in Sunday's feature race at the Louisville oval.

The 1 1/8-mile contest was run over the sloppy main track after weekend-long rains forced it off the turf course. Vibe was in control for the first six furlongs before  Nice Not Nice mounted his bid at the top of the stretch. Nice Not Nice got the lead outside the furlong marker, but Vibe, under a strong ride from Calvin Borel, rallied up the inside to get the well-deserved victory (VIDEO).

Vibe has won three of his ten starts and has earned just under $100,000 for his owner Loooch Racing Stables. The bay Kentucky-bred is the first foal out of the stakes-placed mare Oaks Lily.

Vibe is one of 19 winners this year by his sire, who stands for $6,500 live foal and has bred an average of 103 mares in his first four seasons at Taylor Made Farm.
