Shackleford, Forestry's all-time leading earner, was recently named a finalist for the 2013 Male Sprinter Eclipse Award. The Eclipse Award winners will be announced Jan. 19 at Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach, Fla.

Shackleford recently wrapped up his stellar career with a win in the Grade 1 Clark H. in late Nov. at Churchill Downs. Over two seasons, the striking chestnut with the big white blaze displayed his talents with victories in the Preakness S. (G1), Metropolitan H. (G1) and Churchill Downs S. (G2).

Owned by his breeders Mike Lauffer and Bill Cubbedge, Shackleford is a half-brother to graded stakes winners Lady Joanne, Afleeting Lady, and Baghdaria. He retired after the Clark with earnings of $3,090,101.

Along with Shackleford, Forestry is the sire of millionaires Discreet Cat and A Shin F Danz. In 2012, Forestry's offspring earned over $4.5 million, with 17 juvenile winners. Forestry will stand the 2013 season at Taylor Made for $8,000 LFS&N.
