Master Command's first Keeneland Sales offering brings six figures
Tuesday, November 10, 2009
Taylor Made consigned a group of weanlings by their young stallion Master Command to the Keeneland November sale, including three youngsters that brought $100,000, $62,000, and $55,000.

The top price-getter was Hip No. 232, a chestnut filly out of Joy Valley (BRZ), who was broodmare of the year in her native country in 2000. She is the dam of both Riboletta (BRZ), a multiple graded winner in both South and North America and champion older mare in the United States; and also Super Power, Brazilian Horse of the Year and champion at 2 and 3 in that country. The buyer was BGHA, LLC.

Hip No. 1995, also a chestnut filly, went for $62,000 to Albert Davis. The filly is out of the El Prado (IRE) mare El Nora, who is a half-sister to the Grade 3 winner Tri for the Gold and the stakes winner Golden Lake.

Another filly, Hip No. 2457, which was consigned by Select Sales, brought a final hammer price of $55,000. The bay is out of the Touch Gold mare Jack's Touch, and was purchased by 3 Sisters. This filly comes from the same family that includes Grade 1 winner November Snow and Grade 3 winner Scatmandu.
