Inspired, a 5-year-old mare by Unbridled Song, fought her way to a dead-heat victory in the $75,000 Happy Ticket S. March 24 at Fair Grounds, the third stakes victory of 2012 for the Peter Blum hombred.

The 5 1/2-furlong Happy Ticket was taken off the turf after heavy rains in New Orleans the past few days. Inspired rocketed out of the gate, clearing by a couple of lengths by the time she hit the top of the stretch. Speedacious came to take her on late, and the pair could not be separated at the wire. The final time on a fast track was 1:03.78.

“She’s got a lot of ‘try’ to her,” said rider Shaun Bridgmohan, who was aboard for the first time. “She’s a pretty honest horse. She’s gutsy.”

Kentucky-bred Inspired increased her own career earnings to $256,385 with her sixth win in 16 career starts. Her earlier stakes wins this year came in the $70,000 Ladies Turf Sprint S. earlier this month at Gulfstream Park and Fair Grounds' $75,000 Pan Zareta S. on Jan. 21.

Proposal, is the dam of four stakes winners, including Inspired and her full brother Silver City, winner of the 2009 Dixieland S. and second in the Grade 3 Southwest S. at Oaklawn Park.
