Leading Second-Crop sire Graydar got his second 2-year-old stakes winner of the year on Sept. 2 when Dangerous Wave scored a 2 3/4-length win in the $100,000 Northern Lights Debutante S. at Canterbury Park.

Dangerous Wave is the fourth overall stakes horse this year for her sire, who ranks in the top 10 on the Second-Crop Sires list by progeny earnings, winners and stakes horses.

Fresh off a maiden win on Aug. 10, Dangerous Wave got an excellent trip in the Debutante. Sitting just behind a pair of dueling leaders early, jockey Dean Butler swung her three-wide coming into the stretch, when she found her best stride to win going away in 1:11.64 for the six furlongs on the fast main track.

The winner is campaigned by her owner/breeder Rake Farms LLC and trained by Bernell Rhone. Out of the unraced Mt. Livermore mare Gentle Wave, Dangerous Wave is a half-sister to stakes winners Tanzanite Cat and Hip Four Sixtynine.
