Claresmiezie was in a class by herself with a 8 1/4-length win in the $50,000 Lassie S. July 9 at Hastings Park, a margin that could have been much more for the juvenile daughter of Forestry.

Geared down late after opening up by some dozen lengths after a half mile, Claresmiezie was never seriously threatened in the 6 1/2-furlong contest run over a fast main track. She completed the course in 1:17.

Claresmiezie was bred in Kentucky by Aaron and Marie Jones and is the first foal out of Deputy of Wood, whose siblings include Illinois Derby (G2) winner Distilled and Kent BC (G3) winner Three Wonders. Claresmiezie runs in the name of Riversedge Racing Stable.

Forestry is ranked seventh in progeny earnings on the 2011 general sire list; his leading earner is Preakness (G1) winner Shackleford, one of five stakes winners and a dozen stakes horses to his credit.
