The first Keeneland yearlings by Half Ours sold in Book 2 of the September Sale, and averaged more than 27 times his current fee.

Top price of the Sale thus far was realized on Thursday by Hip 1174, a colt who sold for $150,000 to Buzz Chace, agent. The gray/roan is out of Pulpit’s daughter Postulant, a half sister to Illinois Derby (G2) winner Antrim Road, and from the immediate family of Wavering Monarch. He was consigned by Dapple Bloodstock, agent for Alastar Thoroughbred Company.

A day earlier, Kentucky Derby trainer Barclay Tagg paid $95,000 for Hip 649, a half-sister to 2010 Southwest (G3)/San Rafael (G3) winner Conveyance. Out of the Holy Bull mare Emptythetill, a half sister to three stakes horses, the filly was consigned by Eaton Sales, agent.

A record breaker in the sales ring and on the racetrack, Half Ours sold for a record $6.1-million as a horse in training. By Unbridled’s Song out of Zing, by Storm Cat, he stands at Clear Creek Stud, Folsom, Louisiana. His 2010 fee was $4,500.
