It took less than one day for Unbridled's Song to have his first stakes horse when Awesome Ashley was a game second in the Interborough H. on New Years Day at Aqueduct. The 6-year-old mare lost to her nemeis Distorted Passion, whom she beat in their previous matchup at Aqueduct, the Dec. 9 Garland of Roses H.

Awesome Ashley is owned by her breeder Alex G. Campbell, Jr., who has raced her regularly in stakes company over the past 3-plus years. She has excelled at Aqueduct, collecting three stakes victories at the track.

Awesome Ashley is out of one of the better California-based mares of the 1990's, Queens Court Queen. In a 30-race career, she had 10 firsts and seconds, with five graded stakes wins to her credit.
