Old Fashioned's 3-year-old colt The Trunk Monkey made his two-turn debut Feb. 28 at Fair Grounds, easily winning a one-mile and 70 yard affair to run the gray sophomore's record to 2-for-2 (VIDEO).

Trained by Larry Jones for Rick Porter's Fox Hill Farms, The Trunk Monkey made his winning debut at six furlongs Jan. 31 at Fair Grounds. Stretched out for his second outing, the Pennsylvania-bred put away his foes mid-way down the backstretch, drew clear by some eight lengths on the turn before being eased up late by Rosie Napravnik.

The official margin was 6 1/2-lengths in 1:42.90 on a fast track.

Old Fashioned's second crop has performed extremely well in the early stages of 2014, led by the graded stakes winning fillies Fashion Plate (G1 Las Virgenes S.) and Sweet Whiskey (G3 Old Hat S.). Old Fashioned, who stands this year at Taylor Made for $8,000 LFS&N, is currently second on the Sophomore Sire list with progeny earnings of nearly $420,000.
