Abare, a 2-year-old son of Northern Afleet, went wire-to-wire to win the Classic La Valleja S. run April 8 at Maroñas racetrack in Uruguay, the first stakes win of his career (VIDEO). Northern Afleet, who is standing at Taylor Made for $15,000 this year, is the sire of 2011 Eclipse Champion Sprinter Amazombie, recent winner of the Grade 2 Potrero Grande S. at Santa Anita Park.

Under the guidance of Deividi Gaier, the chestnut colt Abare held the lead for virtually the entire way of the “about” 6 1/2-furlongs, getting some mild encouragement late to complete the distance in 1:17.03. The victory was the 2nd win  in 3 outings for Abare, who was bred in Brazil by stud Haras Morotin.
