A striking dark bay son of Eskendereya brought a winning bid of $650,000 at the March 4 Fasig-Tipton Florida Select 2-year-old sale.

Consigned by Wavertree Stables, Inc. hip No. 29 was bought by Bob Baffert on behalf of Schiappa and Petersen. Baffert’s new purchase, who zipped through an eighth mile in 10.1 seconds at the March 2 under tack show, is out of the multiple stakes-winning mare I’m a Dixie Girl.

Eskendereya is the sire of 15 winners in 2015, tied for tops among all Second-Crop sires. In just the last week, he’s had maiden special weight winners at Gulfstream Park and Santa Anita Park, as well as impressive allowance winner Isabella Sings.
