Not This Time's stellar 2-year-old sales results continued Monday during the first session of the June 29-30 Fasig-Tipton Midlantic Sale of 2-year-olds when hip No. 213 brought a winning bid of $650,000.

The price was the second-highest of the session and the top price for a freshman sire.

From Danzel Brendemuehl's Classic Bloodstock's consignment, the colt was purchased by Lauren Carlisle on behalf of Greg Tramontin.

“We thought he might be a little higher than that, but I'm delighted that he is getting a good home,” Brendemuehl said. “For me, that horse breathes other air and he's a bargain at that price. In the right hands, we will see him next May and in the Breeders' Cup and every big race. He's that kind. He shows up every day.”

The chestnut colt, named Mr. Penny, is the first foal out of the Indian Charlie mare Sanctissima, who is a half-sister to Grade 2-placed Flying Private.

Mr. Penny was Not This Time's sole offering on Monday; he has four lots cataloged for Tuesday's session.
