LEE THOMAS
Taylor Made is a family owned and operated farm built on
honesty, long-lasting relationships and horsemanship. Taylor
Made Stallion’s mode of operation has always been - and
remains - to focus on standing quality stallions that provide
breeders great opportunities whether they are breeding
to race or sell. The recent market results have proven that
the well conformed individual has re-emerged as
the
most
important component of a buyer’s selection criteria. Here at
Taylor Made we consider that each of our stallion’s reflect
that component. Our team has been highly selective in pro-
viding to the breeder a top group of well conformed stallions
that will be well received at the track and in the sales ring.
We have enjoyed tremendous success in standing/managing
stallions over the last 20 years and believe our 2013 roster
offers something for every breeder in every stud fee range.
Unbridled’s Song stands as one of the most accomplished
active sires in the world, siring 43 graded stakes winners—
including 14 Grade 1 winners—and three Breeders’ Cup
champions lifetime. Just four shy of a rare sire landmark of
100 career stakes winners, in 2012, Unbridled’s Song has
been led by Saratoga Grade 1 winner Emcee, and a pair of
Breeders’ Cup runner-ups.
Both Northern Afleet and Forestry enjoyed another
productive year in 2012, as they both sired Grade 1 winners
and division leaders. Northern Afleet was led by reigning
sprint champion Amazombie, who was again a Grade 1
winner and leading sprinter in 2012. Forestry was led by
Shackleford, the 2012 Met Mile (G1) & Clark H. (G1) winner
and one of North America’s leading older horses.
Eskendereya, the dominant winner of the 2010 Wood
Memorial (G1) had his first weanlings sell this fall. Led by a
book two session-topping colt that sold to Stonestreet Stables
for $210,000, the impeccably bred son of Giant’s Causeway
will have first yearlings in 2013.
Old Fashioned, whose first crop of 2-year-olds will race in
2013, was well-received with his first yearlings this year with
an average of $60,440 from 50 sold. His $360,000 filly sold
at F-T Saratoga Select represented the highest priced yearling
by a first-crop sire in 2012. For those breeders looking to
take a chance on a sire whose first crop are 2-year-olds in
2013, Old Fashioned presents a tremendous opportunity at
an $8,000 stud fee.
Taylor Made Stallions also welcomes the addition of
2-year-old graded stakes winner and Classic-placed
3-year-old Astrology, who will stand his first season in 2013.
By the great sire of sires A.P Indy, Astrology is bred identically
to Bernardini and is an exceptionally good-looking stallion.
Our goal is to provide breeders superior customer service
and offer you assistance every step of the way. Thank you
for interest in our stallions and should you ever have any
questions feel free to give us a call at (859) 885-3345.
