CONFORMATION AND MATING RECOMMENDATIONS
Northern Afleet has a compact body type, typical of his sire line, and he has done best with
mares with more size and scope than himself. Standing at just over 15.3 hands, Northern Afleet
is a powerful-looking and heavily-muscled horse with a very strong gaskin. He has a nice head,
and is maybe a fraction short in the neck, but has a deep shoulder and good girth. He has
excellent balance and a great hip length. He has good feet and excellent bone and is correct
through his knees. He has good short cannon bones, but his pasterns are slightly long and soft.
Northern Afleet would be best suited to mares that are above average size that might require
some substance. It also might be best to consider mares that do not have a history of producing
foals that have long and/or soft pasterns.
